There are good local shops in Ashburton including a post office, pharmacy, Co-Op, butchers, delicatessen and local interest shops.
In Bovey Tracey you will also find good local amenities including a post office, butchers, few pubs, cafes (The Riverside Café is very good), Co-Op, Lidl and Asda and Marks & Spencer’s fuel stations.
If you are looking for larger supermarkets and large retail centres, these can all be found in Newton Abbott along with the local train station.

In Widecombe in the Moor there are several pubs and eating places.
The Old Inn
The popular Old Inn can be found on next to the Green. Here you will find a wide-ranging menu and some evening entertainment, generally at the weekend.
The Rugglestone Inn
If you prefer a rustic local Dartmoor Pub, then The Rugglestone is the place to go. This can be found by turning right just before the church and is at the bottom of the hill.
The Café on the Green
The Café of the Green is an excellent place for breakfast, lunch and a homemade cake. Get there early for breakfast as it is very popular!
